AVACreations Social Impact Foundation (AVACreations), a nonprofit Section 8 company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, is based in Guwahati, Assam. The organization is dedicated to community development, livelihood interventions, and women's empowerment, with a mission to promote dignified alternative livelihoods for forest-dependent communities through GI-certified, Origin-based and ethically crafted products.
Central to its vision is the belief that traditional crafts, when aligned with sustainable practices, can transform lives. The Foundation’s flagship program, “Handloom to Hopeloom,” empowers and enable women from forest-dependent communities in Assam by promoting the handloom value chain and sericulture practices as viable livelihood opportunities. This initiative not only reduces reliance on forest resources but also enables women to earn sustainable incomes while preserving their dignity and heritage.
Another notable initiative, “Maa Xuta Prakalpa,” encourages the rearing and spinning of Eri Silk—a non-violent silk—by women artisans. This program not only preserves traditional crafts but also supports conservation and sustainable practices, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to ecological balance.
Guided by its core belief in weaving empowerment and resilience, AVACreations draws inspiration from India’s rich handloom heritage. Every initiative is a step towards creating a sustainable ecosystem where traditional crafts thrive, forests are preserved, and communities flourish. By fostering climate-conscious livelihood enhancement initiatives, the Foundation turns handlooms into symbols of hope, resilience, and socio-economic mobility for the women and their families.
